Broader support & increased efficiency for smarter investigations

MSAB is excited to introduce the latest releases of XRY, XAMN, and XEC.

From simplified support for Android Full File System (FFS) to improved Project VIC keyboard grading shortcuts in XAMN and significant functionality updates brought to XEC, we’re featuring a host of upgrades and innovative additions that will further amplify the efficiency of our entire product suite.

Here’s what you can expect from our latest major release

What’s New in XRY?

Extracting and decoding mobile data with XRY 10.11 is faster and more efficient, both at the frontline level and in the lab. Our powerful data recovery software now supports over 48,000 devices, including over 480 apps and more than 4600 app versions.

And the good news is only starting.

Simplified support for Android Full File System (FFS) Unlocked Generic

XRY 10.11 comes with several new exploits to the Android FFS Unlocked Generic profile, which will significantly improve your extraction capabilities. This has been added to the Logical (Full Read) extraction profile making it simple to ensure you have the best opportunity to secure a FFS extraction.

Kirin Blob 341 After First Unlock (AFU) solution

It is now possible to decrypt Huawei Kirin devices with Blob 341 encryption, if the device is in an AFU state. Support for decryption of Blob 341 is added for Kirin 710, 650 and 970 chipsets.

Dark Mode

XRY 10.11 comes with a dark mode theme, allowing users to use XRY with their desired theme settings. Dark mode helps in reducing eye strain and improves readability in low-light environments.

What’s New in XRY Pro?

The latest release of XRY Pro sees the addition of many new MediaTek devices covered including several in the Dimensity range. Break complex passwords with ease using the new and improved Distributed Bruteforcing tool.

What’s new in XAMN?

XAMN 7.11 features substantial enhancements aimed at simplifying your workflow and helping your investigations. Some of the key improvements we brought to our powerful analysis tool include:

Streamline investigations with an improved grading workflow for Project VIC

The new release of XAMN Pro includes several improvements to make the Project VIC grading workflow more streamlined. Keyboard shortcuts are now available for each Project VIC category, making grading more efficient.

Improved handling of attachments and related artifacts

When an artifact is selected in the Artifacts pane, you can now easily navigate to all related artifacts with the new related artifact navigator in the Details pane. Examples of artifact relations are:

  • Similar pictures

  • Identical files

  • Attachments to an email or message

  • Contact picture

  • Location data for a picture or an event

Import Oxygen iOS extractions

MSAB always works to increase our import support and make it possible for you to have data from different extraction tools available in one place for further and more streamlined investigation. In this release of XAMN, we’ve extended our support with the possibility to import iOS device data that has been extracted using Oxygen.

What’s New in XEC?

XEC Director is your go-to solution for more productive management of your operations, and the latest release takes this productivity to the next level.

Improved file upload permission settings

In the 7.11 release we have improved the permission settings related to users uploading files from client systems to XEC Director, the permissions can now be assigned either by individual user or per user group. We have also added the option to enable files to be uploaded immediately after the user has selected a set of files to be uploaded instead of requiring the user to logout.

Last used timestamp for client systems

Feedback from our customers is important to us, as we strive to tailor our solutions to meet your needs directly. The client systems page now contains clear information for each client system on when it was last used. This information is shown in the status column, and on the Overview tab of the right pane when a client is selected.

Clearer License expiration notification

You will now receive a clear notification of when your XEC Director License is due to expire. A banner will now be displayed within XEC Director informing you as you approach the expiration date, remaining in place until the license is renewed.

What’s New in KTE?

We’re proud to empower frontline personnel with innovative tools that speed up investigations and deliver better results.

BitLocker support for MSAB Kiosks and Tablets

In many organizations, BitLocker is a requirement for devices belonging to a governmental network, especially if they are taken outside of secure premises. Therefore, BitLocker support is now added for MSAB Kiosks and Tablets.

Wi-Fi support for MSAB Tablets

When using the MSAB Tablet outside of the internal network, the diskspace available has sometimes impeded further extractions from taking place due to requiring the user to return to the office to upload and offload the extractions from the Tablet. Now, Wi-Fi support is added, which means the extraction can be uploaded on the go, freeing up valuable diskspace for further extractions.
