Digital forensics practitioners often receive digital evidence of an unknown origin. Unfortunately, it is rare to receive background information on the device to understand if the device has been exposed to material that may be biohazardous to the examiner. Additionally, some evidence may exist in biohazardous environments that is abandoned because it is deemed too dangerous to examine.
